There are 7 pillars that form the foundation of our ministry philosophy.
Those pillars are:
- God-centered. This means that in our teaching, we must emphasize the greatness of God. The Bible is first and foremost a book about God. We want our children to see how strong and big and faithful and loving and majestic and smart and satisfying our God is.
- Bible-saturated. Ministry is about teaching God's Word. This means that God's Word must permeate everything we do. Every action, program, and activity should have an eternal perspective in mind.
- Gospel-focused. We must be intentional to proclaim the Gospel to children and their families.
- Relationship-driven. Children need positive encouragement and reinforcement in their lives from adults and teens they can trust. Children's ministry should focus on connecting with a child's heart and building strong relationships, not on being merely results-driven or program-driven.
- Family-focused. Children's ministry is more than working with children, it involves shepherding parents to be the spiritual leaders for their children, as God intended. Parents should be properly equipped to make a lasting impact on their children.
- Kid-oriented. At the end of the day, we are working to help and serve the children. Our work is to put their ultimate spiritual needs ahead of our own. Our ministry becomes great as we excel in service.
- Fun. Children's ministry programs are allowed to generate fun and excitement for the children…and adults. The programs should be energizing and engaging. After all, who likes boring?
